TEDxBrayfordPoolSalon: The Art of Asking
Updated: Jun 12, 2019
After a slightly longer gap than usual TEDxBrayfordPoolSalon returned for it's fourth installment on Saturday 28th April!
This month's chosen topic "The Art of Asking" saw TEDxBrayfordPool curator Andy Farenden lead an open exploration of what asking for help actually means.
Using Amanda Palmer's legendary talk "The Art of Asking" and Michele L. Sullivan's poignant and funny talk "Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness." to get people's ideas flowing over pizza and beers.
In an extension to the usual co-curation process - where the audience choose the topic for the next event - Andy and the team threw the floor open to the audience for a candid discussion about community, employment and everything in between.
We're honoured that we can continue to help "re-engineer the way businesses think" and to facilitate "conversations with people who may not have crossed paths in the community" (March TED Post Event Survey).
Rounding off the evening the participants voted on the topic for May's Salon event.
Tickets are now on sale for Drawing on Education - exploring creativity in education - hosted by TEDxBrayfordPoolSalon facilitator Chris Clarkson. Tickets are available from our Eventbrite page. We look forward to seeing you!
