TEDxBrayfordPoolSalon: Drawing on Education
Updated: Jun 12, 2019
Our final sellout TEDxBrayfordPoolSalon before TEDxBrayfordPool 2018: Fearless took place on Saturday 19th May.
The topic, "Drawing on Education", was hosted by TEDxBrayfordPoolSalon facilitator, Chris Clarkson, who lead a World Cafe style discussion around creativity in education, education as experience and the place of failure in education with help from the team.
Using Jarrett J Krosoczka's talk "How a boy became an artist" and Sir Ken Robinson's talk illustrated by RSA "Changing Education Paradigms." to people thinking about their own education and inspire lively discussions.
After the discussions, the team encouraged all of the participants to think about what education should be and help create a learning pledge.
We've turned their ideas into a fully fledged pledge. Which will be printed as wallet sized cards that people can carry with them to show their promise to be open to learning new things and offering new learning.
We're proud to have held another "thought provoking evening with a diverse group of interesting people" (April TED Post Event Survey).
Rounding off the evening the participants voted on the topic for July's Salon event.
Tickets are now on sale for "Success is Personal" exploring success and failure as a personal journey - hosted by TEDxBrayfordPoolSalon Curator Heidi De Wolf. Tickets are available from our Eventbrite page. We look forward to seeing you!
