IDEAx & xDEMO
TEDxBrayfordPool & TEDxYouth@BrayfordPool
We're pleased to open applications for TEDxBrayfordPool and TEDxYouth@BrayfordPool 2019. In a change to our usual process we'll be creating our themes based on the applications we receive.
We are particularly interested in people who have something that's new and surprising; have an idea or invention that our audience may never have heard about; or have a great idea that our audience may be familiar with, however you have a compelling new argument that challenges beliefs and perspectives. In other words, ideas that aren't just a story or a list of facts; a good idea takes certain evidence or observations and draws a larger conclusion.
We are eager to consider ideas that:
Are radically new
Showcase fresh approaches to enduring problems
Challenge our conceptions about what’s possible
Expose us to cutting-edge research, technology or design
Energetically redefine the human experience
We reject ideas that are:
Vague or underdeveloped
Based on pseudoscience rather than quantifiable and specific data
Purely personal or motivational in nature
Solely about overcoming adversity or obstacles
Motivated by or seek to promote corporate, political, or religious agendas
xDEMO is our unique auditions and training programme for successful applicants. Our selection committee will will invite shortlisted applicants to give a five minute presentation based on their application in front of a live audience. Based on the presentation the selection committee will then choose this year's speakers! We'll also be giving the audience the chance to vote for their favourite speaker to join the line-up too!
