TED2022 A NEW ERA
A lot has changed since TED last gathered in Vancouver three years ago. We return not for more of the same, wonderful though that was, but to celebrate a new era. Despite the awfulness we’ve lived through, the future beckons with extraordinary possibilities we couldn’t have dreamt of. In medicine, in AI, in clean energy, in the ways we work, the ways we learn, and in the fundamental economic and social systems that underpin everything else.
IDEAS WORTH SPREADING IN THE HEART OF LINCOLN
Ancient & Relevant
The Brayford Pool is the heart of the City of Lincoln, Lincolnshire. It was a Roman port connecting the city to the sea during the reign of Emperor Nero. The north bank was regenerated in the latter twentieth century into a vibrant social hub. In the twenty-first century, the south bank became home to the thriving University of Lincoln. It represents the past, present and future of Lincoln as well as the ever-changing flow of ideas.

With an ever-increasing spotlight on Lincoln, our city has fast become a cultural hub with strong links to its heritage - as the birthplace of mathematician George Boole, the tank, and one of the largest aeroplane producers during the First World War; we have a history steeped in innovation which continues to this day through world-class education, engineering, creative industry, tech and digital industry and much more.
As such, our speaker programme is designed to ensure that legacy of innovation; only the very best ideas worth spreading from Lincoln and Lincolnshire make it to our stage. Being selected as a TEDxBrayford Pool speaker is akin to competing in the Olympics. Not only do our speakers get to deliver a live talk in front of an audience, but the videos of their talks are shared globally via the TEDx YouTube channel.
In our second year, we became one of the fastest-growing TEDx series in the UK.

Our flagship speaker programme event is a staple of the Lincoln events calendar proving that our city is the perfect place to generate ideas worth spreading.

We've become one of the most well-established TEDx series in the East Midlands and we’ve helped grow the TEDx community across England supporting the development of TEDxDoncaster and TEDxPeterbrough, and in Wales with TEDxNantymoel.

Going forward our aim is to continue to provide an environment for all ideas worth spreading for years to come.
